Hal Berger
Hal Berger brings over 25 years of experience across middle-market companies, strategic consulting, investment banking, and international Fortune 500 environments. Throughout his career, he has advised some of the largest publicly traded and privately held corporations in the U.S. and abroad, as well as second- and third-generation family-owned businesses.
Hal has extensive industry experience in agriculture, food & beverage, consumer products, manufacturing, and technology. He played a leading role in one of the largest agriculture and food transactions in California's Central Valley.
Hal Berger has advised, executed, and negotiated over 40 consulting and advisory engagements, representing several billion dollars in transaction value.
His investment banking career is rooted in hands-on entrepreneurial experience — building and scaling startup ventures, then successfully exiting through sales to both private equity firms and public companies.
Mr. Berger graduated with a B.S. in
Economics and Finance from Penn
State University Business school and attended Harvard Business School private equity program.
Ivan Hsu Advisor
Ivan brings over fifteen years experience in mergers and acquisitions working at leading global investment banking firms. Mr. Hsu's experience includes: sell-side and buy-side M&A, mergers, recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), debt financings, growth equity raises, and fund raising.
Mr. Hsu was an investment banker with J.P. Morgan's M&A advisory group covering: aerospace, consumer products, retail and technology sector clients.
Ivan has held additional investment banking positions at Goldman Sachs, Deloitte Corporate Finance, Citi Group and Credit Suisse.
Mr. Hsu graduated from Duke University in engineering and economics and received his M.B.A. from the Anderson Business School at UCLA.
Chris Higgins (Advisor retired)
Chris brings over thirty years experience in corporate financing; private equity, buy/sell transactions, originating, structuring, executing, and managing leveraged finance transactions; including senior & mezzanine debt financing , syndicated loans, subordinated debt, and advisory services for middle market companies.
Chris was formerly a Managing Director at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors a $26 billion hedge fund and was primarily responsible for sourcing transactions for the Middle Market Credit and Growth Private Equity strategies.
Chris was involved in the acquisition of Security Pacific Bank by Bank of America in 1992 and left the bank to be a founding partner of U.S. Capital Partners.
Mr. Higgins graduated with a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California.
